Live Casino Hold’em Rules

Hand Rankings

Live Casino Hold'em is five-card poker--only better. The aim of the game is to use your first two cards and the five-card "flop" to build your best hand--all the while challenging the dealer. With live casino play, your best hand will be revealed automatically.

  • You must place an Ante bet before the game begins, and this is to establish an initial pot.
  • The live dealer can't play without a minimum of a pair of 4s. If the live dealer is able to qualify and you win, you're paid according to the paytable (see below) for your Ante bet; your Call bet pays even money. When you beat the live dealer who failed to qualify, your Call bet is returned and your Ante bet gets paid according to the table.
  • From best to worst, the Live Hold'em hand rankings are: Royal Flush, Straight Flush, Four of a Kind, Full House, Flush, Straight, Three of a Kind, Two Pairs, One Pair, High Card.
  • Should you and the live dealer have equal hands, the winner will be determined by the highest value card/grouping/flush (i.e. three Kings beats three Queens; a flush of A, 6, 5, 4, 3 beats a flush of K, J, 10, 8, 7).
  • In Live Casino Hold'em, the Ace is a great card; it acts as a semi-wildcard and can be played as the highest card in a straight (A, K, Q, J, 10) or as the lowest (5, 4, 3, 2, A).

In Live Casino Hold’em, you've got two betting options:

  1. Call, when you have the dealer deal the remaining flop cards, hoping to play a winning 5-card hand.
  2. Fold, when you forfeit your bets (though you can continue to watch the game play out via the video stream).

Playing Live Casino Hold’em

  1. Live Casino Hold’em starts with an Ante bet. You choose the chip amount with a click of the mouse (what could be easier?), hitting the Ante betting area on the table. Always click “Confirm Bets” to validate your decision before you carry on.
  2. Now is your chance to place an AA side bet, which is a bet on the likelihood of the dealt cards showing two or more Aces. To make this bet, just click on the AA circle on the table; then, of course, click on “Confirm Bets.”
  3. You and the live dealer both get two cards. Yours cards are shown face up, whilst the live dealer’s appear face down. Three more cards are dealt--these are called the “flop” cards. At this point, based on the quality of your hand, you must choose to either Fold (forfeiting your bet) or Call (placing another bet worth twice the amount of the Ante bet).
  4. Next, the last two cards are dealt, and the live dealer’s cards are shown. Whoever has the best hand, which is seen immediately, is the winner and is paid according to the paytable.

Live Casino Hold’em Buttons and Functions

Playing Live Casino Hold’em is about the most fun you can have online. With this short overview, learn how to navigate around the game window so you can get in on the exciting live poker action.

Game window

The Live Casino Hold’em game window has three separate panels in the upper portion:

  • The Central Panel displays the live dealer. To hide or reveal the panel, simply hit the top left corner. In addition, you can move through multiple feeds using the numbered icons.
  • In the Left Panel, you'll see information about your game. An “Info” tab displays the current game, including betting limits, game code and time. The “History” tab shows you information about your previous Live Casino Hold’em rounds.
  • The Right Panel is a chat window for communicating with the live dealer.

The game window's lower portion displays the Live Casino Hold’em toolbar, which contains the following important and useful features:

  • The Current Balance shows your current account balance.
  • The Cashier is the place for making deposits or withdrawals.
  • The Text Box provides up-to-date instructions about the game, including how and when to continue the game play. If, for example, you join a table in the midst of a round, the text box will display a message asking you to “please wait until the next round starts.”
  • The Menu gives you access to practical functions and information such as your game history, settings and help.
  • The Close tab takes you back to the Lobby.

Buttons and Functions

Throughout your Live Casino Hold’em game, these buttons will be available:

  • Call: Establishes a Call bet, allowing you to keep playing against the live dealer.
  • Fold: Sacrifices both your AA and Ante bet, concluding your game play in this round.
  • Max Bet: Fast-tracks to the Max bet in the main bet position. Confirm your choice by hitting “Confirm Bets.”
  • Rebet: Places the same bet that you made in the previous round.
  • Confirm Bets: Confirms the bets on the table. You need to hit this button for your bets to be counted.
